Kicking in the festive season with an easy fried modak recipe
Watch Chef Varun Inamdar make the festive season sweeter with his tuition teacher’s modak recipe, which has been fried in Godrej Veg Oils, as part of the Sahi Shuruaat series

Method
Tarliche modak (coconut-filled fried modak) is one such Maharashtrian special dish that Chef Varun Inamdar loves to revisit from his childhood days. He shares this tried-and-tested fried modak recipe — that of his teacher’s — which he stuffs with grated coconut and jaggery and then fries in Godrej Veg Oils’ Refined Groundnut Oil. The oil is odourless and light in colour, and perfect for frying. The recipe is divided into four parts – getting the dough right (it should be a semi-soft dough), the filling, the perfect shape and lastly, frying to perfection. Indeed, the festival’s just got a whole lot tastier!
