Karela medium size 2 piece/s
Salt 1 teaspoon/s (tsp)
Gram flour 4 teaspoon/s (tsp)
Rice flour 2 teaspoon/s (tsp)
Corn flour 1 teaspoon/s (tsp)
Red chilli powder 1 tablespoon/s (tbsp)
Turmeric powder ½ teaspoon/s (tsp)
Chat Masala ½ teaspoon/s (tsp)
Coriander Powder ½ teaspoon/s (tsp)
Cumin Powder ½ teaspoon/s (tsp)
Oil ¼ litre (l)
Thick Curd whisked 1 cup/s
Sugar ½ teaspoon/s (tsp)
Black salt ½ teaspoon/s (tsp)
Chat masala ½ teaspoon/s (tsp)
Red Chilli powder ½ teaspoon/s (tsp)
Tamarind Chutney 3-4 teaspoon/s (tsp)
Mint Chutney 3-4 teaspoon/s (tsp)
Coriander leaves chopped 1 tablespoon/s (tbsp)
Barik sev 50 gram (g)


1- Peel Karela 
2- Slit & remove seeds 
3- Cut in rings 
Apply salt and leave for 30 mins. 

1- Wash Karela (salt applied )Twice 
2- In a saucepan bring water to boil with little salt and add the washed karela. 
3- After 10 min remove from flame, drain all water. 
4- While hot, add the karela rings in above dry mixture ( ingredients 3 to 13 ) and toss it until all the rings are well coated, keep aside. 
5- Fry this coated karela until crisp. 

1- In plate place the Fried Karela. 
2- Top with Curd, little tamarind and mint chutney
Sprinkle black salt, Red chilli powder, Roasted cumin powder, chaat masala and salt to taste. 
3- Add remaining Tamarind and mint chutney followed by curd. 
4- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and Barik sev and serve.
