Tired of bland, boring chicken? Here’s some quick marinades to amp up any chicken meal!
Marinating chicken helps infuse a different flavour to the chicken, thus taking the dish to the next level
A fan of fiery flavours in your chicken? To add a spicy kick to your dish, you can dry rub some spices onto the chicken prior to cooking, thus upping the spice quotient in your final dish. Allow the chicken to marinade for 30 minutes or so and you are ready to cook!
On the other hand, marinating chicken with liquid marinades is known to tenderise the chicken too. A liquid marinade usually includes a combination of oil, soy sauce, dijon mustard and vinegar, which is lathered onto the chicken. Both dry and liquid marinades infuse the desired flavors into your chicken, enhancing the overall taste of your dish.
Nowadays, a wide range of marinades is available to bring a host of tastes to your dish, and even uplift an otherwise dull grilled chicken dish.

The classic Indian marinade involves a host of spices from red chilli powder, turmeric, dhania powder, cumin powder, garam masala and yoghurt. A mixture of these would count as a wet marinade, which is lathered onto the chicken and set aside overnight. This ensures that the spices are completely absorbed by the chicken which is then grilled or cooked to form the perfect lip-smacking tandoori chicken!
Some other options for a liquid marinade include a pesto marinade, perfect chicken breasts, thighs, and legs. This light and bright paste include ground basil leaves, walnuts, olive oil, lemon juice, and garlic. Similarly, try the Asian inspired teriyaki marinade, made with soy sauce, oil, sugar, ginger, sesame oil, sesame seeds, garlic, and, of course, salt! Grill the chicken pieces and enjoy with some rice and veggies!
Love the smoky taste of barbeque? Try making a barbeque marinade with dried onion flakes, smoked paprika, salt and pepper, ketchup, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Keep the marinated chicken in the freezer overnight or, let it rest at least for a few hours before grilling.
Create a simple all-purpose dry rub marinade with some garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, black pepper, herbs and cayenne pepper! Drizzle some oil onto the chicken and dry rub the mix onto it. You can leave the marinade on for about 3-4 hours and then go on to grilling or cooking the same!
