Milk has long been a staple in Indian households, deeply intertwined with cultural traditions and culinary practices. According to Godrej Jersey Milk Report – Bottoms Up..., India says Cheers to Milk, milk is still the assured go-to food source for balanced health. It is looked upon as a very trusted source to replenish the body with protein, calcium and other essentials.
The report highlights that 44% of Indians consume milk daily in its pure form, without any additives, reflecting a preference for its natural taste and nutritional benefits. This trend is particularly pronounced among individuals aged 36 years and above, signaling a generational appreciation for milk’s wholesome simplicity.
Among Indian cities, Chennai takes the lead, with half of its residents embracing milk consumption in this unadulterated style. Meanwhile, Hyderabad scores the lowest, with only 39% of its population following this habit.
