Healthy eating is beneficial not only to you, but also to your children. When it comes to enforcing healthy eating habits, no amount of power plays or control efforts will work. So what do you do? Here are quick tips to make healthy eating fun for your picky eaters.

Add new flavours

Almond milk is one of the most nutritious drinks for all age groups as it not only energises your body but also your mind. But what do you do if your child doesn’t like the taste of milk? Kids love anything that is playful, so try giving them nut-based almond flavoured milk.

Soak almonds overnight and extract the milk from the ground almonds. Alternatively, blend Godrej Jersey Badam Flavoured Milk with some ice cubes to make a nutritious, protein-packed drink. Add a dollop of vanilla ice-cream on top or garnish with colourful marshmallows.

Alternatively, include wholesome ragi malt in your child’s diet at least once a week to meet their calcium requirements.

Power up with protein

Squeezing enough dairy-rich foods into your kids’ diets is a challenge. As children grow, their intake of dairy (through milk, yoghurt or other alternatives) needs to grow too. Add some dairy items to your child’s lunchbox in the form of paneer sandwiches, bite-size cheese cubes or flavoured yoghurt. Add Godrej Jersey paneer to make quick pancakes or paneer tikka for your child.

Think red, yellow, green, orange and purple fruits and vegetables in your kids’ diet that will provide a wide range of vitamins and minerals. Children need to be familiar with the taste of fruit and vegetables from a young age to establish healthy habits later in life. From making fruit popsicles to spinach and mushroom salad to grilled vegetable kebabs, make sure you are creative with your fruits and vegetables. Sprinkle dried herbs on your grilled vegetable kebabs or serve them on the skewers as a side dish with grilled chicken.
