From mocha cappuccino cookies to brownies and tiramisu, these dessert recipes are jam-packed with the flavour of coffee, whether it’s granulated, instant or brewed!

Coffee lovers can never get enough of coffee, whether it’s the usual morning go-to cup of Joe, a shot of espresso to charge up for a busy day ahead or the deliciously foamy evening cappuccino (or the Dalgona, whipped to perfection!).

And who can refuse a midday caffeine fix in the form of cold iced coffee?

But why stop there? There are numerous ways to incorporate the richness of coffee flavour into mouth-watering desserts. According to our panel in the Godrej Food Trends Report, 52.4% of people prefer gourmet coffee for its artisanal quality which fits right in while making decadent desserts like tiramisu, brownies and cookies.

Cappuccino cookies

These are delicious, bite sized coffee fixes! To make them, you will need some mocha or cappuccino mix, some ground cinnamon, and cocoa powder along with the usual cookie dough making ingredients.

In a bowl, dissolve the cappuccino mix in hot water. In a separate bowl, mix the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the cappuccino mixture and egg yolk. In another bowl, whisk flour, cinnamon, and salt and gradually beat everything together into a creamy mixture.

Preheat the oven to 375° F and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges start turning brown.

Coffee and cream brownies

These are perfect for mid-week binges or just about whenever you want to bite into delicious coffee-flavoured creamy brownies! You will need some butter, cut into cubes; chopped, unsweetened chocolate; eggs, sugar, flour, and vanilla essence. For the filling, you will need three to four teaspoons of instant coffee granules; with some whipping cream, sugar and softened butter.

Preheat the oven to 350° F. In a small bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, and vanilla and stir them in the melted chocolate and butter mixture. Combine the flour and baking soda; gently add it to the chocolate mixture. Bake for 25-30 minutes.

For the filling, dissolve coffee granules in cream. Add sugar and butter; beat together until light and fluffy. Spread over brownies and then refrigerate until set.

Tiramisu

For this recipe, you will need some pre-baked and refrigerated sponge cake, mascarpone cheese (a soft, creamy cheese and an essential element of an authentic tiramisu recipe), and some heavy whipping cream.

For the tiramisu filling, make a smooth mixture of whipped mascarpone cheese, whipped cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.

Dip the sponge cake slices in the coffee syrup. Then layer them in a glass pan. Now evenly spread the mascarpone cheese and whipped cream filling mixture on the sponge slices.

Dust the top layer with some cocoa powder.

Refrigerate the tiramisu for four to five hours or overnight to set.
