We are all fond of fresh juices and chilled drinks during summers, but have you tried India’s most famous summer coolers? Here’s a list of refreshing coolers you must try this summer.

Bael Sherbet

Known for its cooling properties, the bel fruit is highly regarded for its health benefits. All you need to do is mash the pulp of the fruit in a mixing bowl, add some roasted cumin powder, sugar and water. Then leave the mix in the refrigerator for 20 minutes. The sherbet tastes best when served cold. Garnish with some mint leaves.

Shikanji

One of the most popular Indian coolers, it is a must-have drink in the summer heat. Also known as nimbu shikanji and shikanjvi, it is a lime-based drink but has a plethora of spices mixed in it, such as coriander seeds, black peppercorns, cumin seeds and chaat masala. It keeps you hydrated and works as a natural coolant.

Jal Jeera

An ideal drink for the hot summer days, jal jeera is a traditional Indian beverage. It has many variants, but it is mostly made by mixing fresh coriander, mint leaves and roasted cumin powder. It tastes best when served cold. Add crispy boondi on top before serving.

Aam Panna

Fruits like mangoes, watermelon and grapes are essential in keeping our body hydrated in the hot summer months. Aam panna is made using raw mangoes, which are boiled, then blended, and later mint paste is added. Sugar, cumin and salt are added to the pulp along with five-six cups of water. The mix is finally left to cool. It is best served chilled and garnished with mint leaves.
