Fun summer cocktails to keep yourself cool
Chilled cocktails made from the season’s fruits to keep you cool
Summers are incomplete without frozen desserts, tropical fruits and chilled cocktails. If you are a fan of fresh fruits, you need to try these drinks that combine the fun of cocktails with fruits of the season.
Fruits such as pineapples, lemons, mangoes, and watermelons are found plentifully in this season. So while you’re mixing your cocktails for the cool summer nights, reach for these fruits that go wonderfully with your hard alcohol to create refreshing, fun drinks. Go beyond the pina colada and try these delightful cocktails.
Mango margarita
This delicious cocktail requires the popular summer fruit – mangoes, granulated sugar, lemons, Triple sec, tequila and ice. Start with zesting the lemons. Put the zest into granulated sugar and mix them well using your fingers. Throw in the mango chunks, Triple sec, tequila, granulated sugar, lemon juice, and ice into a blender. Blend them adding ice to achieve the desired consistency. Take a cocktail glass and moisten the rims with a lemon. Roll the glass rims in the mix of sugar and lemon zest. Pour the chilled mango margarita into the glasses and serve!
Pineapple coconut mojito
Give the crowd-pleaser cocktail a punch of pineapples and a kick of coconuts. Start with prepping your cocktail glasses. Rim the glasses with some honey, roll them into coconut flakes, and fill them up with ice. Take pineapple juice, coconut water, white rum and some fresh lemon juice. Crush some mint leaves and add them to the shaker. Shake the ingredients together vigorously.
Strain the mixture into the glasses and garnish with a wedge of lemon or a pineapple slice. Sip the pineapple coconut mojito and drift into the tropics and sunny beaches.
Vodka watermelon cocktail
As simple as its name is, this cocktail is easy to make and requires very few ingredients. To prepare this light and refreshing cocktail, add a few pieces of deseeded watermelon pulp, some coconut water, and a few spoons of lime juice to a blender. Blend these ingredients together and pour their smooth mixture into a pitcher. Add some good old vodka (citrus vodka would work even better) to it and stir well. Pour your vodka watermelon cocktail into a tall glass, and garnish with a few leaves of fresh mint.
Tamarind pineapple margarita
The sweet and sour combination of pineapples and tamarind is bound to make you happy and nostalgic. Did you spend your summer holidays during childhood relishing tamarinds with your friends? Then this cocktail is definitely for you.
Prep your cocktail glasses by rubbing a lemon wedge around the rim and rolling it in powdered cinnamon and sugar. Put some strained tamarind pulp water, pineapple juice, simple syrup, lemon juice, tequila and ice in a blender. Blend until the mixture is smooth and pour it into cocktail glasses. Enjoy tamarind pineapple margarita with your friends and revive the old memories together.
